Working closely with The Cream Store, Black Ivy Design crafted a space that’s more than just a retail outlet – it’s a destination. The design studio’s approach was to create an environment that embodies The Cream Store’s brand values and brings the local community together. Every element of the store is designed to captivate, from the bespoke lighting installations to the use of natural materials that invite tactile engagement.
Inspired by Sheffield Drawing inspiration from Sheffield’s industrial heritage, known as the “Steel City,” we integrated natural and raw materials such as birch wood, stone, and steel. These elements are softened with plush textiles and thoughtfully curated textures to create an elevated yet welcoming atmosphere that encourages customers to explore every corner of the space.
Black Ivy Design first worked with The Cream Store on their Nuneaton branch. Building on the success of the first store, it made perfect sense to collaborate on the Sheffield flagship store. According to director Manish Patel, it was important to work with a designer that could communicate their vision. Having worked together before, Black Ivy Design already had a proven ability to just “get it”.
“Black Ivy Design truly captured the essence of our brand, translating it into a space that feels both luxurious and accessible. Their attention to detail has resulted in a store that not only looks stunning but enhances the customer experience in ways we hadn’t imagined.”
